On January 18th of this year, I said we are in a recession. Not to toot my own horn, but the National Bureau of Economic Research's recent announcement (we've been in a recession since December of '07) confirms my statement almost a year ago.
Being I was taking an economics course at the time, I did have some added insight from my professor. He also believed we were in a recession.
I'm sure you're all waiting for me to say when we'll be back to the good times. My guess is third-quarter of 2009. Get ready for a long winter of bad economic news.

I'm guessing first quarter 2010.
I keep hearing the recession called a "downturn" or "slowdown". Why don't they just call it what it is?
