Word Verification = True

I apologize to anyone who this annoys, but I've turned on Google's "word verification" for comments. Word verification is where you have to type in a short word before publishing your post.

I'm starting to get a number of bogus comments and would like to cut down on them. Again, sorry if this annoys anyone.

I was wondering if you were going to do that. I had it on for a long time, and then Google filtering got better and it was unnecessary, and then I started getting (spam) comments again after over a year w/o it on. Surprisingly, even with it on, I got a batch of about 12 spam comments the other day (very similar to yours). I wonder if someone has cracked word verification (and automated it), or if it's actually cost effective to hire someone to spam as many blogs as possible.

The business idea of hiring American's to spam blogs is intriguing. Would you invest?
