The 2008 Minnesota State Fair

We're off for our annual trip to the Minnesota State Fair. Every year we meet my in-laws out in the beer garden for cocktails, fatty food and people watching. I enjoy the latter most.

Scooter does this cool thing where he takes an annual picture of his daughter in front of a state fair sign. I brought up the idea to my wife and while it's technically our son's second state fair (he was four weeks old last year), we're going to start a similar tradition. Maybe in front of the Big Slide?

A lot of people I've talked to hate the state fair. I'm not really sure why, but I think it might have to do with the number of people. The head count doesn't bother me. I actually enjoy making mental notes of all the tattoos and wife-beater tee shirts surrounding us.

Well I've got to run. As I'm typing this my lovely wife is telling me, in her own special way, how much she could use my help. "I'll be right there honey!"

At first I read part of your post as "fatty people watching". I thought that was mean. But apparently it's just me that's mean, in some sort of Freudian mental manner.

Being slightly overweight myself, I take your thoughts as an insult.
