Vacation from the vacation

Today my wife and I are taking, what I refer to as, a vacation from our recent vacation.

We spent the last three and a half days up in Bayfield Wisconsin with my family. It was my son's first real vacation (if you don't count a night at my wife's cabin during the 4th). In addition, it was the first time my grandmother got to see my parent's sail boat on Lake Superior.

The entire time was grand. We went biking, golfing and walking. We shopped, ate, and read. Some went to a concert, others to a movie and some of us even went out on a short "date" while grandpa babysat (thanks Dad!).

Everyone got along great and we only spent three hours at the emergency room to repair my son's finger which got caught in a cabinet door. I'll elaborate on that more later this week.

Now that we're home, I'm trying to recover from all the activities. I never felt this way in the past. I'm attributing the need for a vacation from the vacation to my one-year-old son who is in perpetual motion. Leaving mom and dad in perpetual motion. Thus causing us to take this Monday off to relax.
