I'm now a barista

Today we cut the ribbon on our new latte machine. It's actually not new, just a used one that a colleague of mine brought in. He used it his old job and my hope is that it was not the cause for him leaving.

I suppose a more astute coffee drinker would refer to this as an espresso machine. Being my taste is limited to straight coffee (sometimes decaffeinated) and lattes, I'll continue to refer to the machine as a latte maker. For me, that's its purpose.

The machine is housed in my bottom drawer. From what I've heard, facilities doesn't care for us having non-work related electronics laying around. They feel the behavior is ignominious and could cause harm. But most of us do, so we simply hide our fans, televisions (I used to have one), fridges, etc.

Do you know of anyone else who has a latte machine at work? I'm curious to see how many amateur baristas are out there.

I think I should tell on you. Unless you bring me a coffee drink.

I told Ryan that I'd let him know when we start brewing again. I suppose that offer can be extended to you. I'll keep you in the loop.
