Nuclear testing in Kazakhstan

If we can learn any lesson from the past, we should look at the nuclear testing after affects that Kazakhstan is dealing with. CNN has a great article that explains the issues and be warned, they are horrid.

The Soviets tested 456 nuclear devices up until 1989. From what the article says, 116 of the tests were done above ground and in areas where the people of Kazakhstan lived. Windows were blown out as mushroom clouds rose above the horizon.

It’s amazing to me that nuclear testing in populated areas was done just sixteen years ago. The affects of nuclear fallout had to be known. Anyone that is part of the Soviet nuclear program should take a good look at the issues people from Kazakhstan are dealing with and be ashamed of themselves. It’s an embarrassment for humanity. Let us never repeat this again.
