Final Review on McCarthy’s “The Road”

I finished “The Road” and to be honest, I didn’t like it. I got comfortable with the format (see FormatReview on McCarthy’s “The Road”), but I found the story banal. Maybe someone smarter than me can extract an underlining meaning from walking around in ashes, heading south towards the sea. Unfortunately for a simpleton like me, I didn’t find any meaning.

That’s all I have to say about McCarthy’s book. My next read – not sure what yet – I’m going to pick something a bit more mainstream and is easy for a callow minded person like me.
