A few days ago we picked up a bag of "City Kid Java" coffee. Whole bean so I can wake my wife with the grinder.
City Kid Java is produced by a nonprofit company in Minneapolis. 100% of their profits go to at-risk children.
I went with the Sumatra Mandheling. They say it's "forthright, full and early with a whisper of citrus and molasses." While I can't say I've tasted the citrus, City Kid Java sure produces a forthright bean. I made an espresso this past weekend that almost dropped me on the floor.
If you get a chance and want to support at-risk kids, give City Kid Java a try and let me know how you like it.
